Dr. Tzou,
Thank you for your kindness and attention, and for adjusting your schedule when I needed your help.
I truly appreciated it - and that helped keep my mind at ease. Your heart is in the right place, too.
Thank you, (A.R.)
Dear Nolan,
You are so kind and generous. Thank you for your prompt response to my hospice nurse. And coming to
the house to help me control aches and pains. Fred and I cannot believe how helpful you are.
Sincerely, (J.M.)

To Whom It May Concern,
This letter is written in praise of Dr. Nolan Tzou, Medical Director of the Pain Treatment Center at Huntington Hospital,
Huntington N.Y.
I went to Dr. Tzou as a last resort for severe back pain. I was 78 years old in the summer of 2000. My history had been
back surgery when I was 19 for sciatica, a ruptured disc, which left me wondering if I would become a cripple for life.
Fortunately, the surgery helped and over the years with the help of a fine chiropractor, the pain was generally kept under
control.
But in the spring of 2000, I developed such back pain that I could not easily reach down to tie my shoes. Pain kept me
awake at night. I tried chiropractic, an orthopedist, acupuncture - the works, but this time the pain did not become less.
Enter Dr. Tzou. In June and July 2000, he gave me two epidural shots two weeks apart. After the first one, I did not
notice much change. But two weeks after the second shot, the pain was gone. Not less, but gone.
Dr. Tzou had told me there was no guarantee, that epidurals work for some people but not all, that they might last
a short time and might last longer. He did not mislead me in any way. But here I am, painless more than a year and a
half later.
When I don't like something I usually say so. When I do like something, I hope I really sound off. So here's to
Dr. Tzou. He took my pain away so I have no trouble walking a few miles a day as I near my 80th birthday.
This letter was my idea only. It was unsolicited. It may be used in any way Dr. Tzou wishes.
